A 125-meter statement for Urban Sports, right above the highway
Since July 2025, one of the most unique skateparks in the Netherlands stretches across the roof of the A9 tunnel, right in the middle of the green Brasapark. With a length of more than 125 meters and a total surface of 1,600 m², this skate track winds like a ribbon through the landscape. Designed and built by Nine Yards Skateparks, commissioned by the City of Amsterdam, it has become a new urban sports landmark for the capital.

From concrete roof to vibrant sports venue
Brasapark is a new recreational area built on top of the redeveloped A9 tunnel. In the middle of this green landscape, the skatepark stands out as a dynamic, eye-catching sports facility. Designed for daily and intensive use, the track is engineered to support 500 kg per m² and seamlessly integrated into the park’s overall layout.
Its elongated shape – more than 125 meters long – makes the park open, clear, and inviting for both athletes and local residents.
The skatepark is designed with versatility in mind, offering zones for every level and discipline. From a mini ramp, flow zone, and pump track to street elements such as rails, a euro gap, quarter pipe, and bowl corner. Whether you ride a skateboard, scooter, BMX, or inline skates, there’s something here for everyone, beginner to pro.
Built for the city, built for the sports
What makes this skate track unique is not only its size, but also its setting. Surrounded by grass, trees, and the wider park landscape, it feels like a natural part of Brasapark. Not a separate sports field, but an integral design where movement, community, and relaxation come together.
The design was developed in close collaboration with local users, making sure the park reflects their needs and daily routines. No off-the-shelf solution, but tailor-made for the community.
Located at the heart of Brasapark, the skatepark has quickly become a valuable public facility: an open, free, and accessible place where residents can practice sports, connect with one another, and take active ownership of their urban environment. A real boost for both neighborhood vitality and city-wide connection.
