Skate activation in the port of Rotterdam Fisherman's Friends
Creative studio HERE agency developed a concept inspired by sea legs: 'Deck to Deck' . A playful nod to the robust, energetic spirit of Fisherman's Friend. The idea was to merge skate culture with the nautical identity of Rotterdam, creating a bold and unexpected brand experience.
Nine Yards was commissioned by Concorp BV to bring the activation to life. A pre-existing skate ramp was transformed into a “skateboat”; a ship -floating in the middle of the Rijnhaven- serving as a mobile stage for skate demos, tricks, and challenges, while also inviting direct interaction with the audience.

Deck to Deck: skate, beats and brand experience in the Rijnhaven
For the event program, we teamed up with Skateland010, who brought in top skate talent including Jason Lijnzaat, Bert Wilmink, and Wouter de Jong. Together, they delivered spectacular demos, bold tricks, thrilling battles and cash-prize contests, captivating an audience of all ages.
The musical atmosphere was set by DJ Redbeard, whose beats kept the energy high on the skateboat and amplified the vibrant mood of the event. Visitors weren’t just spectators; they were part of the action. They could learn tricks from the pros, ride the ramp themselves, and experience the unique maritime setting of the Rijnhaven up close.
