Carhartt WIP Skate Jam takes over Berlin’s industrial landscape
On 24 and 25 July 2026, the third stop of the Carhartt WIP Skate Jam landed in Berlin. Set inside the striking industrial surroundings of KINDL - Centre for Contemporary Art, a temporary skate spot was built for two days of sessions, bringing together the international Carhartt WIP skate team and Berlin’s local skate scene.
From industrial hall to temporary skate spot
The Carhartt WIP Skate Jam is an international series of open skate sessions that brings the Carhartt WIP skate team together with local communities and scenes. For each edition, an existing location is temporarily transformed into a space to skate, connect and come together.
For the Berlin edition, Carhartt WIP teamed up with Nine Yards to create a custom skate setup featuring mobile, modular obstacles. Each element was designed to complement the raw industrial architecture of KINDL, coming together to create a temporary skate spot inside the former brewery.
Ramps, ledges and other obstacles were combined to create different lines and flows throughout the space. Thanks to its modular design, the setup can be rebuilt and adapted to suit a new location, giving the system a life beyond a single event.
A complete brand experience
The scale and height of KINDL created an opportunity to think beyond the skate setup. Alongside the obstacles, Nine Yards also created a large inflatable Carhartt WIP logo, making full use of the hall’s impressive vertical space.
Nine Yards also designed and built the DJ booth, bringing all the physical elements of the activation together. From the skate obstacles to the logo and booth, every element contributed to one cohesive and instantly recognisable Carhartt WIP environment.
The result was a complete transformation of the industrial hall into a temporary space where skateboarding, music, design and community came together. Not a collection of separate elements, but one complete brand experience.
More than a skate spot. A complete brand experience.
Skateboarding, design, music and community came together in one temporary Carhartt WIP activation.
From industrial space to brand experience.
With skateable obstacles, a custom-built feature and DJ booth, KINDL was temporarily transformed into a space where brand and skate culture came together.
Make space for the brand
A strong brand activation is about more than visibility. It creates an environment where the brand becomes part of the experience.
Think beyond the floor.
The height of KINDL offered an opportunity to go beyond the skate setup. A large inflatable Carhartt WIP logo made the entire space part of the activation.
